About the Program
The Mater eConsultant offers a ‘Request for Advice’ (RFA) service to support GPs' access to specialists input to provide clinical advice for adult patients (16 years and over) with complex chronic conditions.
This is not a patient referral to the Mater Hospital but a request for timely clinical advice which may eliminate the need for a specialist face-to-face outpatient consultation. This is a free service for General practitioners, patients are not required to be involved with the Mater Adults hospital to be eligible.
How to Request
The request for advice is sent using a template set up within the practice software system. Templates and instructions for installing can be found here. Responses will be received from an experienced specialist within 3 business days using secure messaging.
