HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT - Screening for substance use in Primary Care

This interactive webinar helps participants identify and address hidden substance use concerns in general practice through realistic case scenarios.
Participants will examine two detailed cases to develop skills in recognising warning signs of underlying issues, explore practical screening approaches and build confidence in patient conversations.
Gain up-to-date knowledge on local support services and referral pathways while enhancing clinical skills in a supportive environment, empowering participants to provide more comprehensive patient care.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Analyse substance use trends in the Western Queensland Primary Health Network area and explain the impact of common substances on physical and mental health.
- Identify clinical indicators of potential substance use disorders and appropriate investigative approaches for patients with unrelated concerns.
- Identify suitable referral pathways for patients with high-risk substance use issues and be aware of available local support services.
