WQPHN Consumer Advisory Committee Membership
Western Queensland Primary Health Network (WQPHN) is on the lookout for passionate and dedicated individuals to become a vital part of our Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC). This is a unique opportunity to influence primary healthcare strategies and initiatives, making a tangible impact on the health and wellbeing of communities across Western Queensland.
The WQPHN CAC is a WQPHN Board sub-committee and as a member of the CAC, your lived experiences and insights will play a crucial role in guiding WQPHN towards innovative solutions that address the healthcare challenges faced by our diverse population. We believe in the power of collaboration and community representation to drive positive change and ensure equitable access to quality primary healthcare services for all.
Why Join?
- Be a representative: Serve as a voice for the community, advocating for strategic initiatives and improvements in regional health outcomes.
- Make a difference: Contribute to the WQPHN Health Needs Assessment and advise on health consumer engagement best practices, directly influencing health service provision.
- Gain and share insights: Engage with a broad network and regional consumer forums, to share and gather perspectives on health issues, needs, and concerns.
WQPHN Chief Executive Officer, Sandy Gillies said the Committee is a unique opportunity for community members to share their lived experiences of health and wellbeing services in their local area. “Committee members will play a vital role in sharing the heath needs and challenges for people living and working throughout our region,” Ms Gillies said. “People living in rural, remote and very remote parts of Western Queensland often have to travel large distances to access the care they need. But they deserve the same access to high-quality care as everyone else. We shouldn’t settle for anything less.”
WQPHN is inviting community members to join the committee and share their experiences, as well as practical ideas and solutions for improvement. “We’re bringing people together to amplify the voices within our communities,” Ms Gillies said. “We’re building the evidence base for greater investment so that every Western Queenslander has access to safe, accessible, appropriate and affordable care, close to home.”
Commitment to You
Selected CAC members will be remunerated for their time and provided with comprehensive training to ensure effective participation. WQPHN values the contributions of all committee members and is dedicated to supporting your journey with us.
